Graduate Design Engineer

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated graduate Design Engineer to join our team at Subsea Products/ Energy Equipment in NOV. This role is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to immerse themselves in a creative and collaborative environment, working alongside experienced engineers on innovative projects.

The typical work location is the NOV offices at Fornebu, with the possibility of working from home on some days of the week.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting in the development and refinement of design concepts for subsea products and systems.
• Collaborating with senior engineers to create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings.
• Participating in design reviews and contributing ideas to enhance product functionality and efficiency.
• Supporting the preparation of technical documentation in English.
• Learning to conduct basic design calculations and simulations under supervision.
• Providing input to project teams and assisting in the coordination with fabricators and customers.
• Some business travel may be expected, both domestically and abroad, including offshore assignments.

Qualifications And Skills

• B.Sc/M.Sc degree in design engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• Strong interest in product design and development for subsea applications.
• Basic knowledge of CAD software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) is an advantage.
• Familiarity with design processes and methodologies is beneficial.
• Creative problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when required.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, in Norwegian and English, are required.
