Java Software Engineer

Contract: Freelance

Duration: 12 months with an option for extension

Location: Brussels (Hybrid, 2-3 days per week on-site)

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain high-quality Java applications
• Collaborate with other teams to ship innovative features
• Work with APIs and third-party integrations
• Perform unit tests to ensure reliability and performance
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues to maintain code quality
• Continuously improve application performance and development processes

Join the Team:

We’re looking for a developer who sees software development as a craft. You should have at least 4 years of relevant experience and deep knowledge of Java, Spring, RESTful APIs, and Oracle DB. Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, and Continuous Integration tools is essential, as is a solid understanding of clean code principles.

Working in an Agile environment, you’ll be involved in pair programming, code reviews, and team collaboration. We expect you to contribute to the team's success and constantly seek new ways to improve processes and outcomes.

Requirement:

• At least 4 years of similar Experience
• Experience and deep knowledge of Java, Spring, RESTful APIs, and Oracle DB. Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, and Continuous Integration
• Strong understanding of the Objet Oriented principles, Domain-Driven Design, design patterns
• Experience with Test-Driven Development
• Hands-on experience with Gitlab, SonarQube, Fortify, and NexusIQ

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of Dutch or French
