Senior Cyber Security Specialist

Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Cyber Security Specialist to undertake complex work across Cyber Security functions. This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to develop and deliver capabilities for use by the Security Operations Centre (SOC) within a dynamic and supportive environment. The successful candidate will be accountable under broad direction and will report to the Assistant Director, CSOC Capability Development.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Curating and optimising threat feeds, researching emerging threats and trends, and integrating threats into operational platforms and reporting.
• Operating Vulnerability Management platforms in an enterprise environment including cloud, endpoints, network infrastructure, and producing reports.
• Enterprise scale SIEM engineering.
• Identifying, planning, and implementing enhancements to the Agency's threat landscape.
• Developing systems specific use cases, monitoring plans, and cyber security incident response plans.
• Working autonomously with limited direction to identify and drive work through to completion.
• Communicating with influence to ensure deliverables are aligned to Corporate Plan and organisation goals.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Demonstrated experience in Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI).
• Experience with cloud security tooling and cloud platforms (SIEM, SOAR, Endpoint Security, AWS, Azure, O365).
• Familiarity with cyber threat modelling techniques.
• Strong understanding of Australian Government governance concepts with a focus on ICT, policy/standards development, and documentation of frameworks.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to mentor and provide expertise within a team environment and engage with internal/external stakeholders confidently.
