Frontend Developer

Twipe is a mediatech scale-up based in Leuven, Belgium working with leading newspaper publishers in Europe and the US to grow their digital subscribers and sustain quality journalism. We offer cloud based digital edition publishing, analytics, and personalization solutions. Our innovative solutions accelerate the growth of newspapers including Le Monde, The Telegraph and the various titles of Mediahuis (De Standaard, Het Nieuwsblad, De Telegraaf,…).

To inspire our industry, we gather and analyze industry knowledge and share insights with our growing Future of News publishers’ community.

What do you do?

You architect, build, and maintain excellent React Native applications and React web apps with clean code, creating pixel-perfect, buttery smooth UIs that match designs. By leveraging native APIs, you ensure deep integration with both platforms, and you carefully select and integrate third-party APIs to enhance functionality. You also write comprehensive unit and integration tests to guarantee quality and reliability.

In your role, you diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks to deliver a native-like performance. Additionally, you play a key role in maintaining legacy applications and facilitating their seamless migration to React and React Native.

Your track record:

• 4+ years of experience with Typescript
• 2+ years of professional experience working with React and/or React Native
• Deep understanding of software design
• Strong knowledge of monorepos (e.g. nx) is a plus
• Solid foundation in HTML5 and CSS3
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and collaboration tools (code reviews, JIRA, CI/CD pipelines…)
• Experience with testing frameworks and debugging tools for front-end development
