Introduction

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Strategic Analyst to join the Metso Strategic Analytics team. As an Analyst, you will play a crucial role in conducting analysis in the areas of industry market fundamentals, trends, competitors, and customers. You will be responsible for gathering and analyzing data, identifying insights, and providing recommendations to support strategic projects and business decision-making. Your work will contribute to identifying business opportunities, improving processes, and driving growth.

We are looking for someone who is on a journey of growth, whether you’re management consultant, market intelligence analyst, engineer eager to transition into analytics or a data analyst looking to deepen your market expertise.

This position is mainly located in Espoo, Finland, but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. This position requires occasional traveling.

The Strategic Analytics team comprises expert professionals proficient in both technical and business domains. We specialize in transforming raw qualitative and quantitative data into actionable insights crucial for business-critical projects and decision-making processes.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct comprehensive analysis of industry market fundamentals, trends, competitors, and customers.
• Gather, organize, transform, and analyze relevant qualitative and quantitative data from various sources.
• Identify key insights and trends to support strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate closely with Business Areas and Functions. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts. Collaborate with the analyst network, business and market areas.
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear, engaging, and concise manner.
  
  
  

Who You Are

• Master's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with data.
• Proficiency in gathering, organizing, and analyzing data from various sources.
• Strong attention to detail and a customer-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey findings and recommendations effectively.
• Strong networking abilities, being comfortable in building relationships with stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to occasionally travel for business purposes.
• Experience as a Market Intelligence Analyst or similar analytical role and/or Business Development/Management Consultant and/or relevant industry experience (mining/minerals/metals) is highly desirable. Experience in conducting market research, competitive analysis, modelling preferred.
  
  
  

If you come from an engineering background, you should have a strong interest in data analytics and market analysis and be ready to learn fast. Likewise, if you come from a data & analytics background, you should have high level of proficiency and confidence in those skills. But also have a keen curiosity about the mining and metals industry, as well as eagerness to learn about the business, equipment, operations and market.
