Business Analyst-Data Engineering and Data Analytics

Job Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Business Analyst with at least 5 years of relevant experience in Data Engineering and Data Analytics to join our growing team. This role will focus on bridging the gap between business needs and data-driven solutions, providing actionable insights, and supporting the implementation of data-driven projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and transform business requirements into data solutions that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with business stakeholders, including product managers, data engineers, and data scientists, to gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into technical data solutions. Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including business requirements, user stories, process flows, and data mapping specifications. Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and key metrics to drive actionable insights for business strategy and decision-making. Assist in designing and implementing data models, data pipelines, and reporting solutions to ensure that data is accessible, accurate, and actionable. Work with Data Engineering teams to ensure seamless data integration across systems, and assist with data validation and data quality checks. Perform root cause analysis on data discrepancies and work with technical teams to resolve data issues in a timely manner. Develop and present reports and dashboards using data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) to communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders. Support the creation of data governance practices to ensure data consistency, integrity, and security across business units. Identify opportunities for process automation and improvement, leveraging data and analytics solutions to optimize business operations. Track and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solutions and business strategies. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging data technologies to ensure that the organization remains on the cutting edge of data solutions.

Qualifications: Essential Skills & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field (Master’s preferred). At least 5 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or in a similar role, with a focus on Data Engineering and/or Data Analytics. Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, including ETL processes, data modeling, and database management. Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques (SQL, Excel, Python, R, etc.). Extensive experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker). Solid experience working with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, user stories, and process flows. Familiarity with cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery). Experience in analyzing and designing complex data models and databases. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform complex data analysis. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical data concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Desirable Skills: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence). Experience working in a fast-paced, data-driven environment. Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and their application in business contexts. Understanding of data governance and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR). Certification in Data Analysis, Data Engineering, or related disciplines is a plus.
