Senior Software Engineer (Java and AWS)

Established in 2014, we have successfully delivered projects for significant enterprise to small organisations across the Asia Pac region. Our headquarters are based in Sydney.

At NOVON we are focused on building our expertise around Data, Engineering and Integration and our goal is to always remain technology agnostic to any specific customers to ensure the best solution for their business. We are growing our Engineering team, and we are currently looking for Senior Java Engineers to join us.

About The Role

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Software Engineer to support one of our key customers in enhancing their engineering platform and meeting growing business demands. The project is a multi-year initiative where our customer intends to enhance their systems while working with backend APIs and infrastructure on AWS cloud. We are looking for exceptional skills across Java, and AWS, ideally in the financial services industry.



What You Will Be Doing

• Develop and maintain scalable microservices using Java, Spring framework
• Design and implement REST APIs, ensuring high performance and security
• Work with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes to build and deploy cloud-native applications
• Utilise JMS, relational databases, and SQL to optimise backend performance
• Apply best practices in microservices design patterns and architecture
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Gradle, Maven, and Bamboo
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product excellence
  
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• Solid experience in Java, Spring, and Spring Boot
• Experience in microservices, REST APIs, and best coding practices
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes
• Experience in JMS, SQL, and relational databases
• Experience with Gradle, Maven, and Bamboo for builds
• Experience in ArgoCD or Grafana or Splunk

• Experience in regulatory reporting, treasury or capital markets
• Experience in SonarQube
