Operations & Product Manager - EMS (F/M)

Octave is a cleantech scale-up on a mission to deploy cutting-edge energy management and storage solutions. We are looking for an Operations & Product Manager to oversee the deployment and performance of our Energy Management System (EMS).

Your Role

Product Management

• Translate customer needs, technical requirements, and operational feedback into actionable improvements to the EMS platform.
• Define, track, and optimize KPIs related to EMS performance (uptime, commissioning time, revenues generated, ...)
• Collaborate with engineering teams to prioritize features, improvements, and bug fixes.
• Develop and maintain internal documentation, tooling, and processes to scale EMS commissioning and support.

Customer Support

• Continuously monitor EMS performance, ensuring seamless and optimal operation of our distributed assets.
• Manage notifications and alerts, responding proactively to system anomalies.
• Identify client needs, and work closely with internal teams to optimize EMS usability and customer experience.
• Provide first-line customer support for EMS-related inquiries. Escalate technical issues related to EMS logic to the Software or Analytics teams.

EMS Hardware & Installation Management

• Oversee the procurement, setup, and distribution of EMS hardware.
• Provide installation support for EMS hardware in non-BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) sites.
• Handle the commissioning of Octave’s EMS, and the configuration of the controlled assets (PV inverters, EV chargers, …)

What We Are Looking For

• Experience with energy management systems or IoT devices
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Customer-centric mindset, with the ability to provide high-quality support and service delivery.
• Excellent communication skills in English (French or Dutch is a plus).

Bonus Points For

• Experience in the energy markets.
• Knowledge of Python and Linux, for troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with industrial protocols such as Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU.
• Familiarity with IT networking concepts.
