Data Scientist

Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in cleaning, processing, and transposing complex data, building robust predictive models, evaluating their performance against defined business objectives, and deploying these models to AWS ECS for scalable cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Acquire, clean, transform, and transpose data from various sources to create reliable datasets suitable for modeling.
• Develop, train, and evaluate machine learning and statistical models aligned with business objectives.
• Measure model performance using appropriate metrics to ensure accuracy, scalability, and effectiveness.
• Interpret model results and provide actionable insights to stakeholders, clearly communicating technical findings to non-technical audiences.
• Deploy and maintain machine learning models in production environments, specifically leveraging AWS ECS.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
• Continuously monitor deployed models, perform tuning and retraining as needed, and implement automated monitoring systems.

Technical Skills Required:

• Proficiency in Python and common libraries/frameworks (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, SciPy).
• Extensive experience with data cleaning, manipulation, and transformation (ETL processes).
• Hands-on experience building predictive models using machine learning algorithms (regression, classification, clustering, ensemble methods).
• Knowledge of deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) is advantageous.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases for data extraction and analysis.
• Experience deploying machine learning models on AWS ECS (Elastic Container Service).
• Strong understanding of Docker containerization and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) preferred.
• Familiarity with Git and standard software development best practices.
• Solid knowledge of performance metrics and model evaluation methodologies.

Software Development Skills Required:

• Proficiency in software engineering practices including version control (Git), continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), and automated testing.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and microservice architectures.
• Experience with Linux environments, bash scripting, and command-line tools.
• Competence in cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS services (S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, EC2).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience in data science, machine learning, and software engineering.
• Strong problem-solving skills, analytical abilities, and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in team-oriented environments.

Preferred:

• Certification in AWS Cloud Solutions or AWS Machine Learning Specialty.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
