Your new role

• Develop and maintain Network Architecture Strategy and Design, integration, testing and documentation of telecommunications networks, ensuring they are robust, efficient and have the capability to readily recover.
• Manages network infrastructure, ensures it aligns to ICTS strategic direction, meets industry best practice in design and operations, meets the business requirements and provides a flexible platform to support new technologies, including Cloud.
• Develop and manage technical documentation of procedures, policies, work instructions, forms and templates to ensure quality processes that are consistent and repeatable.
• Provide high-level expertise, research and analysis, advice and input on network and communication infrastructure development and planning to ensure service delivery meets future client demands.
• Develop innovative solutions to new, complex and wide-ranging problems which affect network and communication infrastructure.
• Analyse ongoing business requirements in relation to its Network, Internet and Data Security infrastructures and make recommendations with regard to future requirements, including the preparation of project proposals and budget estimates for capital and expenditure items.
• Manage network and communication implementations within a project management framework based on business / client needs and technical requirements. This will include client and vendor liaison, and the necessary coordination of staff to assist in large projects.
• Manage and support the daily operations of IT Communication Infrastructure, including IP WAN, MAN, LAN Networks and Internet/cloud infrastructure, Wi-Fi Networks and vendors
• Present technical overviews to provide skills transfer for personnel within Information & Communications.
• Develop and maintain performance benchmarks and monitor the efficiency of network and communications systems.
• Provide support for network services and assistance with maintenance of the security infrastructure as required.
• Ensuring personal safety and the safety of others by following policies and procedures, cooperating with all reasonable instructions and actively participating in all health & safety training and consultation.
• Such other relevant duties as required from time to time would generally fall within the scope of this position.

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related discipline and /or substantial experience in a relevant associated field.
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal Skills with the ability to communicate persuasively, engage in active listening, Consult and negotiate with a wide range of people at all levels of the Council, Foster collaboration, cooperation and facilitate small work groups.
• Strong Research, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose And initiate sustainable business improvement /customer-focused solutions
• Demonstrated ability to prepare for professional/technical business communication Such as reports, presentations and projects, planning and policy documents with demonstrated ability to operate effectively with relevant business technologies including mobile devices, Microsoft office suite and other online or electronic systems, applications and corporate reporting programs.
• Driver's Licences "C" Class.
