Head of Artificial Intelligence

Our client is a leading diversified conglomerate based in Abu Dhabi and is looking for an experienced and visionary Head/Director of AI to lead their AI strategy and execution. This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking AI leader to join a rapidly evolving organization and make a significant impact by shaping the future of AI within the company.

In this role, you will build and lead an AI team, drive the strategic direction for AI initiatives, and collaborate closely with key stakeholders across the business. As the Head/Director of AI, you will be a key member of the leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI and machine learning solutions that drive business transformation across multiple departments.

· Develop and execute a comprehensive AI strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s long-term objectives.

· Manage, mentor, and grow a talented team of data scientists, machine learning engineers, and AI researchers.

· Collaborate with senior leadership to set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for AI initiatives.

· Create and implement best practices for model development, experimentation, and optimization to drive performance and operational efficiency.

· Stay up-to-date with the latest AI trends, technologies, and research to ensure the organization remains at the cutting edge of the industry.

· Forge partnerships with academic institutions, AI research organizations, and industry leaders to drive innovation.

· Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and ensure that AI solutions are implemented ethically and transparently.

Requirements:

· 8+ years of experience in AI/ML, ideally within tech, healthcare, finance, retail.

· Expertise in AI/ML techniques including deep learning, natural language processing (NLP), and computer vision.

· Solid experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and AI frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.).

· Proven track record of leading high-performance AI teams and delivering large-scale AI projects.

· Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

· Strong strategic thinking skills, with an understanding of how AI can address business needs and challenges.

· A Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field is preferred.
