About The Role
The Information Security Officer position is responsible for monitoring, analysing, and remediating security events to ensure the integrity and security of our information systems. This role involves deploying, configuring, and optimizing security tools, conducting vulnerability assessments, and managing incident response activities. The Information Security Officer will work closely with various stakeholders to address security concerns, provide compliance advice, and develop security policies and procedures. This position is crucial in providing cyber operations and cyber governance support to ensure that FSA’s cyber defence requirements are achieved and secured from current and emerging threats.

About The Role

The Information Security Officer will work closely with various stakeholders to address security concerns, provide compliance advice, and develop security policies and procedures. This position is crucial in providing cyber operations and cyber governance support to ensure that FSA’s cyber defence requirements are achieved and secured from current and emerging threats.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and management of our ISMS controls
- Provide expert analysis and advice on Information Security maturity
- Ensuring compliance with ISO 27001:2022, Essential 8 and Right Fit for Risk (RFFR)
- Investigate cybersecurity incidents, develop responses, and implement continuous improvement measures
- Measure, evaluate, and report on security controls, policies, and processes
- Stakeholder and employer engagement
- Strategic planning and continuous improvement
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Information Security management, cybersecurity and/or network security, including ISO 27001 controls and audit requirements
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, policies, risk management, threat detection, prevention, and response strategies
- Experience in incident response, security assessments and compliance reporting
- Proven expertise in Information Security governance, risk management and assurance
- Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organisation, including non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively
