Chief Technology Officer (CTO) - UAE 🇦🇪

About the Role:

We've just partnered with a Proptech start-up to help them secure their new Chief Technology Officer to lead its technology strategy and execution. The CTO will oversee all technological aspects of the business, from platform development to innovation, ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with the company’s growth objectives.

This will be a hands-on role - you will be the bridge between the business and the technology. You must be comfortable being in the trenches with the dev team, and confident with leading strategies and building a product from the early stages.

Exciting times for the business as they look to go live in the next few months, with a healthy pipeline of customers already bought in 🤝

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and user-friendly platforms for web and mobile
• Develop and implement a comprehensive technology roadmap aligned with business goals
• Build and manage a high-performing technical team, fostering innovation and collaboration
• Oversee system architecture, performance, and cybersecurity to ensure reliability and compliance
• Collaborate with Executive leadership to translate business vision into actionable technical strategies
• Drive adoption of advanced technologies such as AI/ML for personalized experiences and operational efficiency
• Continuously optimize platform performance and scalability to support rapid growth
• Manage technical budgets, vendor relationships, and third-party integrations

Requirements:

• Proven experience in senior technology leadership roles within startups or tech-driven companies
• Expertise in software architecture, cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS/GCP), and full-stack development
• Experience with AI/ML applications, data analytics, or recommendation engines (preferred)
• Ability to lead web and mobile development
• Proven experience in scaling from MVP to millions of users
• Very strong understanding of how to build platforms focusing on scalability, performance and optimisation
• Strong knowledge of data security, privacy regulations, and payment systems
• Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
