Senior Manager Strategic Sourcing

About The Role

An exciting opportunity to join the Qatar Airways Procurement department as Senior Manager Strategic Sourcing leading Ground Procurement categories . In this role you will be in charge of the overall sourcing strategy within a specific category or group of categories in Group Procurement. The job is responsible for building relationships with major stakeholder across the QR Group and working closely with the senior leadership to identify, evaluate and implement sourcing strategies which will significantly influence value through Qatar Airways Group spend.

Your Duties Would Include

• Lead strategy development for specific sourcing projects and deliver this through a team of Category Managers who cover all products and services across procurement categories
• Leverage market research, benchmarking diverse sets of information to stay up to date with the latest contemporary solutions thinking, best practice and suppliers’ trends.
• Build senior stakeholder relationships, clearly identifying their priorities, influencing their agenda and supporting policy compliance. Ability to maintain these relationships over the long term by continually delivering on promises and removing roadblocks to progress.
• Define strategic SRM processes within category to drive supplier performance and ensure commercial rigor, quality of service and continuous improvement and innovation.
• Build and manage cross functional negotiation teams, working with strategic suppliers to achieve long term joint value and achieving results within stretching timescales.
• Understand needs and sourcing options in order to develop a clear view of business requirements and target outcomes.
• Ensure policy compliance and maintaining the core principals of integrity, transparency and commerciality whilst implementing sourcing projects that enable delivery of innovative solutions in line with policy. Influences and contributes to effective policy and process best practice.
• Evaluate and present complex sourcing options and sound recommendations, this includes Category Planning and individual Sourcing plans for specific large-scale projects.
• Negotiate large scale contracts, strategic procurement and delivery at senior level with complex demand challenges in a complex operational environment Responsible for the creation, maintenance and execution of the allocated category plan.
• Embed sustainability into procurement projects, products, services and purchasing practice (e.g., TCO certification, sustainable sourcing processes, energy consumption, lifecycle trade-offs & disposal).
• Track procurement project benefits (savings, cost avoidance, additional capability and priority 1 transformational projects).
• Responsible for delivering clear robust and insightful project and market assessments reporting to senior stakeholder’s management and wider executive leadership team.
• Devise, execute and maintenance of Tier 1 Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program.
• Devise and maintain clear framework to deal with supplier failure. This needs to be agreed with User, counterpart stakeholders and legal teams, so a clear RACI and process exists to deal with issues.
• Support the VP Procurement and Logistics to source and implement effective tools to improve analysis, collaboration, sourcing and supplier relationship management.

We Are Looking For a Passionate And Experienced Professional To Join Our Group Procurement Team. The Ideal Candidate Should Possess The Following

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 10 years of job-related experience
• Experience across a broad range of procurement activities including sourcing, contracts, supplier management and procurement processes and policies
• Experience of engaging senior stakeholders
• Deep and extensive market knowledge covering multiple categories – With deep and comprehensive knowledge of multiple markets, service and product types.
• Evidence of extensive personal and company networks.
• Demonstrable stakeholder management skills including extensive support of Exec and C level leadership agenda.
• Expert Negotiator who can harness internal and external expertise to deliver great results. Proven ability to negotiate a wide range of high value (c$10m plus) complex commercial arrangements covering a variety of products, works and services.
• Risk mind-set underpinned by policy. Demonstrable experience of balancing risk and reward.
• Manages Complexity
• Service driven mind-set and here to support the business to grow and excel, you need to be seen as the go to person who knows the market and who can navigate internal complexity whilst adhering to policy.
