Back End Developer

Our client, a leader in their space are seeking a Backend Engineer to join their team on a contract basis.

This is a contract role, circa 6 months

Key Responsibilities:

• Write clean, maintainable, and accessible code to ensure long-term supportability and ease of testing
• Contribute to the design and architecture of microservices and core libraries
• Collaborate with project managers and fellow engineers to gather and clarify design requirements
• Work within an agile team to deliver engaging and efficient user experiences
• Address production issues, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal downtime
• Maintain high standards of code quality, security, and performance

Basic Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in software development, particularly with TypeScript
• Proficiency with relational databases like PostgreSQL or other SQL-based systems
• Solid understanding of modern software development practices and methodologies
• Proven experience delivering scalable SaaS solutions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing and developing scalable cloud-based microservices
• Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle, including version control, build processes, testing, and code releases
• Knowledge of TypeORM, NestJS, and Cucumber testing
• Familiar with Agile practices and Test-driven development (TDD)
• Experience building or consuming RESTful or gRPC web services
• Strong communication skills, particularly in asynchronous and distributed teams
