Junior/Middle Data Scientist (m/f/d) - Tietoevry Create

Tietoevry is inviting a talented professional to join our growing team as a Data Scientist.

Areas of Responsibility

• Data Exploration & Statistical Analysis — Use statistical methods to analyze in-depth data, uncover insights, and validate hypotheses.
• Experimental Design & A/B Testing — Design experiments, run controlled tests, and evaluate results to optimize decision-making.
• Mathematical & Predictive Modeling — Develop statistical and predictive models to support business strategies.
• Business Impact & Strategy Alignment — Translate complex data findings into actionable business recommendations.
• Machine Learning (When Necessary) — Apply ML models (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow,) when they provide clear value, ensuring they are aligned with business needs.
• Data Pipeline & Automation Support — Collaborate with engineers to structure and automate data workflows.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python and data processing libraries (Pandas, NumPy).
• Hands-on experience with SQL for querying and processing data.
• Expertise in statistical methods, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
• Knowledge of ML frameworks (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow) but with a strong preference for statistics-based approaches first.
• Familiarity with MLOps tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and cloud services.
• Ability to define and solve business problems through data-driven approaches.
• Experience working in an R&D or experimental role, ensuring rigorous validation of findings.
• Passion for bridging the gap between data science and business strategy.
• Strong communication skills to present insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Upper Intermediate level of English.

Will be an advantage

• Experience with cloud computing (AWS) at an intermediate level.
• Previous experience working with large-scale data processing (PySpark, etc.).
