Sibling is recruiting a senior Tableau Developer for a leading consultancy working across the United States. You will be involved in missions to tackle pressing global challenges—from strengthening health systems to advancing education, housing, food security, and environmental sustainability. As a Tableau Developer, you'll collaborate with stakeholders to define and deliver powerful data visualization solutions. You’ll lead end-to-end Tableau projects, from gathering requirements to creating dashboards that influence decision-making across key initiatives.
Functions of the role
- Lead multiple data visualization projects using Tableau.
- Translate complex business needs into intuitive dashboards and reports.
- Design mock-ups, wireframes, and proofs of concept, incorporating feedback from stakeholders.
- Develop and test front-end UI solutions for clarity, performance, and accessibility.
- Collaborate with data engineers to normalize and transform data for visualization.
- Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, validation, and analysis.
- Ensure cross-browser/device compatibility and adherence to best practices.
- Train team members and support users on developed solutions.
Skills Required
- Proven experience developing complex Tableau dashboards with features such as spatial joins, map layers, advanced chart types, mobile layouts, and parameter actions.
- Strong understanding of various data structures and architectures.
- Proficient in SQL and experience with databases like Snowflake, MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or RedShift. Knowledge of PowerBI and other visualisation tools
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments with competing deadlines.
- Familiarity with Agile and other development methodologies.
- Experience with wireframing tools (e.g., Figma or PowerPoint).
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Those who have worked in consultancies prior, with working knowledge of multiple projects and tight deadlines will be at an advantage
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree with 5–8 years of relevant experience, a Master’s with 3+ years, or equivalent experience.
