Job Objective:
We are looking for a skilled and proactive System Automation Engineer to join our ICT team. This role is responsible for ensuring the functionality, availability, and efficient inventory management of automation equipment deployed across petrol stations and convenience stores. The ideal candidate will also manage asset tracking and provide hands-on troubleshooting of automation and electronic systems to support seamless business operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate procurement to ensure availability and timely deployment of automation equipment.
- Arrange transportation and transfers of equipment between locations, and manage related processes in Oracle EAM.
- Maintain detailed and accurate inventory records (manual or digital) for materials, equipment, and asset movement.
- Identify and report non-conforming items and coordinate with Procurement to resolve quality or delivery issues.
- Monitor inventory and asset lifecycle for automation equipment deployed in petrol stations and warehouses.
- Troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment for reuse as spare or service units.
- Maintain and manage the automation test laboratory; conduct simulations and testing before upgrades or field deployment.
- Ensure equipment is operational and optimized prior to deployment to maximize resource utilization and cost efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Information Technology.
Minimum Experience:
- 8–10 years of hands-on experience in Retail Automation in a similar or larger organization.
- At least 1 year of experience in asset control and equipment inventory management.
- Proven experience in commissioning and configuring modern POS cash registers for petrol stations and convenience stores.
Certifications (Preferred/Advantageous):
- CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification (preferred)
- Technical certification in fuel dispensers, ATG systems, or site controllers (e.g., Gilbarco, Wayne) is an advantage.
Job-Specific Skills:
- Expertise in PC hardware and network setup.
- Skilled in diagnosing and troubleshooting electronic equipment issues.
- Proficient in Windows 10 and Windows Server environments.
- Familiarity with Forecourt Devices such as:
- DOMS Site Controllers
- Gilbarco Fuel Dispensers
- Veeder-Root ATG Consoles
- Auto Car Wash Systems, OPTs
- Understanding of industrial electrical standards and ability to interpret electrical schematics.
- Familiarity with serial communication protocols.
- Experience creating reports and databases using MS Excel and Access.
- Strong project management and technical documentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Fluent in English (verbal and written).
- Must possess a valid Qatar driving license.
