Digital Product Owner

Chaberton Professionals, a division of Chaberton Partners dedicated to the research and selection of Middle Management profiles, is currently looking for a Digital Product Owner for a Fintech Startup set up in Milan with the objective of investing in real estate across Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

● User & Market Insights: Analyze user pain points and gather customer needs to inform product development.

● Strategic Planning: Develop and prioritize product roadmaps with clear development priorities and rapid, small-increment hypothesis testing.

● Process Implementation: Establish core product management processes, including setting up prioritized backlogs, well-written user stories/epics, and bug reports.

● Data-Driven Decision Making: Set and achieve KPIs and SLOs by reverse-engineering from the business plan to maximize service profi tability.

● Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with design, development, and marketing teams to craft product solutions that resonate with customers.

● Stakeholder Communication: Work closely together with the CEO and ensure clear visibility into product delivery by communicating plans, sprint demos, and release notes to internal stakeholders. ● Competitive Analysis: Monitor competitive trends and integrate market insights into product improvements and strategy adjustments.

● Cultural & Strategic Leadership: Build a product culture centered on solving user problems, develop initial product marketing strategies, and engage users to continuously enrich the product vision.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

● Strong commitment to a startup environment and excellent teamwork skills.

● Proven experience in developing customer-centric products, with a keen focus on understanding the “why” behind every feature.

● A minimum of 3-5 years in a Product Manager role or a similar position, preferably in startups or fast-growing environments.

● Excellent communication and coordination skills to drive projects forward while collaborating with multiple departments.

● Profi cient in leveraging both quantitative and qualitative data for informed decision-making.

● Basic understanding of software development and market trends to facilitate effective communication with engineering and design teams.

● Ability to work with an international team and customer base, with business-level profi ciency in English.

● Basic knowledge of legal topics to understand regulations and laws in the fi ntech industry and to integrate them into product development.

● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

● A builder’s mindset, combined with a team spirit, maturity, and a commitment to continuous personal growth.

● Familiarity with Agile methodologies or Lean Startup principles.

Would be a plus if you have:

● Product management experience in a seed-stage startup of fewer than 10 employees, driving early product strategy, MVP development, and rapid iteration to establish product-market fit

● Experience in product development within the FinTech industry.

● Engineering background and software development experience.

● Knowledge of digital product UX/UI design.

● Interest or experience with smart contract technology and blockchain.

● Ability to work onsite at our Milan HQ to collaborate in person and contribute to a strong team culture.
