Senior Network Engineer

Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Network Engineer to manage and optimize our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Network Infrastructure Management:
• Oversee the end-to-end operations of the network infrastructure, including the configuration, monitoring, and optimization of routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless systems.

• Network Security:
• Implement advanced network security protocols and continuously monitor network traffic to detect and mitigate malicious activity, anomalies, or breaches.

• High Availability & Redundancy:
• Ensure high availability of network infrastructure by applying redundancy configurations (e.g., BGP, VRRP, HSRP) to minimize the risk of downtime and ensure uninterrupted service.

• VPN & Remote Access:
• Manage the VPN infrastructure, providing secure remote access for employees in various geographical locations, ensuring reliable and secure connectivity.

• Capacity Planning & Bandwidth Analysis:
• Regularly perform network capacity planning and conduct bandwidth analysis to ensure the infrastructure can handle increasing data flow, particularly during peak usage periods.

• Cloud Integration:
• Integrate on-premises network operations with cloud-based solutions, ensuring seamless connectivity between data centers and cloud environments.

• Network Audits & Health Checks:
• Conduct routine network audits and health checks to identify vulnerabilities, performance bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.

• Collaboration with External Stakeholders:
• Work closely with external stakeholders, such as internet service providers and cloud service providers, to resolve issues and optimize the organization's network topology.

• Configuration & Troubleshooting:
• Configure and troubleshoot networking components such as routers, switches, firewalls, edge network devices, and wireless infrastructure (Wi-Fi).

• Patching & Vulnerability Remediation:
• Perform regular patching and updates on network infrastructure, adhering to vendor-specific requirements and best practices. Collaborate with team members to remediate vulnerabilities and implement best practices.

• Cross-functional Collaboration:
• Collaborate with IT architects, systems engineers, project managers, and business stakeholders to ensure the seamless operation of infrastructure components, maintaining high levels of security, availability, and performance.

Required Experience & Certifications:

• Experience:
• Minimum of 10 years in network administration, with a focus on managing complex, enterprise-level environments.
• Proven experience as an IT Network Engineer with a focus on maintenance and operation (5+ years of hands-on experience).

• Certifications:
• Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), and specialized security certifications (e.g., Cisco CyberOps, CompTIA Security+).

• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, routing protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, VLAN, Wireless Controllers, OSPF, BGP, VPN, SD-WAN).
• Familiarity with security protocols (IPSec, SSL/TLS) and network performance tools.
• Hands-on experience with network equipment from various vendors, including Cisco, Fortinet/Palo Alto, and Dell.
• Expertise in network security principles and best practices (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC).

• Tools & Technologies:
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools such as SNMP.
