Network Engineer – Edge & Core (Routing, Switching, Automation)

• Rate: €103 per hour

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our Edge and Core Network team. In this role, you will support and enhance critical network infrastructure across both private and public cloud environments. You will play a key part in maintaining operational excellence, working closely with ISPs and internal stakeholders to ensure reliable connectivity and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and improve inter-data center MPLS (DCI), WAN, and internet edge networks.
• Collaborate with internet service providers and telcos to maintain healthy internet connectivity across global customer endpoints and AWS cloud-front services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues as part of daily operations.
• Deliver network projects including vendor migrations, device replacements, data center migrations, and design changes.
• Coordinate circuit capacity upgrades and manage network incidents with carriers.
• Respond to customer and operational network requests.

Essential Skills

• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with routing and switching, TCP/IP.
• Strong expertise in networking protocols: BGP, ISIS, MPLS, IPv6, and EVPN.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in network automation using Python and Terraform.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with AWS networking services: Transit Gateway, VPC, Subnets, Route Tables, NAT/Internet Gateways, VPNs, Direct Connect.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Knowledge of internet architecture, RPKI, global exchange points, and data center networking.
• Understanding of network security concepts including firewalls and DDoS protection.
• Configuration experience with Juniper, Cisco, or Arista devices via CLI or Ansible.
• Experience with DWDM technology and MPLS operations is a plus.
