Level Designer

About the Role

Gleam Games is seeking a Level Designer to join our team and craft engaging, balanced, and fun levels for our mobile games. You will work closely with game designers, artists, and developers to design and iterate on game levels that enhance gameplay experience and align with the overall game vision.

As this is a global position, you will be collaborating with an international team, and fluency in English is essential for effective communication. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, prototype, and implement compelling levels and game content that support the game’s mechanics, pacing, and difficulty curve.
• Collaborate with game designers and developers to ensure levels are aligned with game vision and technical requirements.
• Playtest, evaluate, and iterate on level designs based on internal feedback and player data.
• Work with tools and editors to build levels efficiently and with high attention to detail.
• Maintain level documentation and contribute to level design guidelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience as a Level Designer or in a similar game design role.
• Strong understanding of level structure, game balance, pacing, and player progression.
• Experience working with Unity or other level design tools.
• Analytical thinking and attention to detail, with the ability to solve design problems creatively.
• A passion for mobile games and a deep awareness of level design in casual and hybrid-casual genres.
• Fluent English communication skills are required, as this is a global role.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on mobile games.
• Familiarity with data-driven level design (e.g., balancing using player metrics).
• Basic scripting knowledge or familiarity with Unity’s editor tools.
• Shipped game titles or professional experience in a game development company.
