Developer Advocate

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Developer Advocate to join our Ecosystem team. Qt technology is well established and has a large global user base, and your mission will be to grow Qt adoption even further by identifying and engaging entirely new developer audiences and expanding the dialog with existing ones. You will leverage your deep technical credentials to enlighten, and listen to, developers online and in real life.

The location for this role is Espoo or Oulu in Finland.

What You Will Do

• Identify new developer audiences based on languages, tools, user needs, or geographical regions, and craft strategies for how to reach them.
• Build and maintain relationships with key influencers, partners, and organizations within the developer community.
• Align with relevant Open Source projects and communities on key requirements and trends, while encouraging contribution to the Qt Project.
• Actively engage developer communities on forums and other online channels and at in-person events; bring feedback and learnings to product management and R&D.
• Work with marketing on technical, developer-focused content including blogs, webinars, and presentations, showcasing Qt to new audiences.
• Hold technical talks at conferences, meetups, and other events to engage with developers and promote Qt; create opportunities for our developers to do the same.
• Lead the Qt University and Talent Network and related activities such as hackathons, etc.; create and implement a scale-up plan for university collaborations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software development, preferably with experience in application & HMI development tools and frameworks
• Knowledge of C++, Python, Java, Rust, C#, Swift, and other relevant languages and technologies
• Proven experience in engaging with and communicating to developer communities
• First-hand knowledge of open source project governance and development practices
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (C1 level)
• Willingness to travel
