Azure DevOps Engineer

Role

We are looking for a Service Manager for boutique consultancy who are working with some of Australia’s leading enterprise businesses and government organisations going through digital transformation programs of work.

Location

This role offers hybrid working: Office-based on a 3 out of 5 days basis. Can be based from either Sydney or Melbourne.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients and colleagues to gather requirements and deploy cloud solutions tailored to meet specific business needs
• Implement and run/operate scalable and reliable Azure cloud services for our clients
• Lead a DevOps delivery model and/or participate in agile ceremonies where appropriate
• Monitor system health and performance for live projects
• Be across security best practices and comply with industry standards
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automation to streamline software delivery and reduce deployment times
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and services, ensuring high availability and reliability
• Document processes, configurations, and procedures to maintain clear and up-to-date records
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in managing cloud services

Technical Capability

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in cloud platforms (Azure), containerisation and microservices (ECS, Kubernetes), and automation tools (such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins).
• Deployment experience for Azure services such as Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, Azure SQL Database,
• Experience of using a range of code repositories, (e.g. Bitbucket, GitHub, Gitlab)
• Scripting and Programming: Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.

Attributes

• 5+ years in operational cloud DevOps and maintenance
• Demonstrated success in implementing cloud solutions for enterprise-level clients.
• Proven track record of working effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous, dynamic environment
• Experience managing serverless environment (Azure) for client websites and applications

Desirable Experience

• Working within a IT Consultancy
• Experience with other cloud platforms such as Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Examples of managing critical infrastructure
• Architect skills

Qualifications / Certifications

• Azure cloud certifications
• Degree level qualification in computer science, engineering or technology
