The Engineering Division conducts research and provides engineering services to the whole of DSO in the areas of digital and mixed- signal electronics/microelectronics, radio frequency (RF), electromagnetic interference (EMI)/electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), antennas, as well as mechanical and thermal engineering.

Photonics Engineer


In this role, you will:

  • Develop and design photonic devices and systems, including lasers, modulators, amplifiers, harmonic generators and detectors
  • Utilize software tools for simulating and modelling photonic devices, circuits and subsystems
  • Build and test prototypes to ensure functionality and performance specifications are met
  • Conduct experiments to validate design criteria and improve device performance
  • Conduct research to develop new photonic technologies and applications
  • Provide technical support and expertise on photonics related enquiry from other departments


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on experience with optical and photonic equipment
  • Strong communications and teamwork abilities
