Job Location: São Paulo City - Metropolitan Area/South Zone (3 days/week at office);

Working hours: Brazil business hours + on-call to be discussed;

This position reports to: Brazil Network Engineering / Clients & External Networking domain (market data network)

Job Summary:

We are building out a brand-new team and office in São Paulo office to support our Platform Infrastructure Engineering team and enhance the FactSet tools used by our development teams and clients.

The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for managing and optimizing complex network systems by configuring networking equipment, automating processes, and collaborating with clients and internal teams to ensure effective integration and support. They will also lead network projects, provide solutions, and serve as an escalation point for technical issues.

Candidates for this position should have solid experience with WAN/LAN technologies, TCP/IP, routing protocols and have a deep understanding of reference network architectures along with a significant level of ‘Hands On’ network OS experience. Additionally, candidates with a solid track record of interaction with ISPs, familiarity with automation tools, multicast experience, strong analytical, project management and troubleshooting skills will receive a higher level of consideration.

Past success designing or maintaining a network via automation is also expected. Candidates should have competence in at least one scripting language and experience with standard automation tools. A successful candidate for this position will have strong interpersonal skills, an elevated level of verbal and written dexterity and will enjoy providing effective and meaningful solutions for clients, both internal and external.

Job Responsibilities:

The Senior Network Engineer on day-to-day will:

• Act as a consultative resource of network engineering for FactSet’s clients, vendors, and internal teams.
• Engage in project delivery in collaboration with business areas.
• Regularly contribute to network stability and performance.
• Configure Cisco/Arista Routers, Switches, F5 Load Balancers, and Cloud Networking (AWS and Azure) Services for integration.
• Build deep interpersonal relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Join incident management routines.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for network troubleshooting.
• Research, architect/design, and implement new connections with market data providers and other third parties.
• Streamline processes using templates, automation, and workflow systems.
• Support and guide other Network Engineers.
  
  

The candidates we`re looking for should (must-have skills):

• Have a deep understanding (CCNP/equivalent level) of:
• Routing protocols;
• LAN Switching;
• TCP/IP stack concept;
• Network Services (DNS, NTP, DHCP, ARP, etc)
• Have at least basic understanding (CCNA/equivalent level) of:
• Multicast technologies, DNS, LAN switching, and Wireshark.
• Public cloud computing technology platforms like AWS and Azure.
• Network automation tools such as Python, Perl or similar scripting languages and Ansible, Salt, or similar automation tools.
• Network Security (ZTNA/SASE concept / cryptography, hashing, perimeter, Stateless/full/NG Firewalls)
• Be able to:
• Architect, Build and Manage network infrastructure assets from multiple vendors.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with global team of technical engineering across EMEA, US and APAC.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with internal business stakeholders from Market Data platform business areas.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with external stakeholders like customers or vendors (ISPs, DC, Stock Exchanges, others).
• Guide and support new comers and junior engineers with technical expertise to develop their careers inside FactSet.
  
  

The candidates we`re looking for may (nice-to-have skills):

• Previous experiences working in financial organization, broker dealer/stock exchange or market data environment as network engineer.
• Strong experience and knowledge of F5 Load Balancers.
• Understanding of Storage Area Networks (SAN).
• Understanding of network operating systems and modern data center requirements like spine-leaf.
• Familiarity with network packet broker technologies and public/private/hybrid network architectures.
• Strong experience programming, or scripting at network environment.
• Experience with Unix, Linux, and Windows operating systems.
• CCIE/JNCIE certification.
  
  

Requirements to apply:

• BS degree (Tecnólogo Superior ou Bacharelado) in an engineering/IT discipline or equivalent.
• 5-8 years of relevant experience.
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
• Live in São Paulo to commute to office 3x/week as pe FactSet`s global policy.
• Be able to participate in on-call rotations for weekend / OBH coverage - to be discussed with hiring manager.
