Our client is a US security and networking company that helps people connect securely with confidence on any device, to any application, anywhere, anytime. Together with the client, we aim to improve the current firewall system by making it more secure and less costly to maintain.
The plan is to reduce the number of resources the firewall uses and make it cheaper, but still just as effective. This will require a lot of work from engineers, who will figure out what can be simplified or removed without compromising the firewall’s performance.

IF YOU ARE
- A software engineer with at least 4 years of hands-on experience in C and C++ development
- Experienced in Linux systems programming (file systems, processes, signals)
- Skilled in building and optimizing network applications for low latency and high throughput
- Familiar with networking protocols and concepts like TCP, UDP, DNS, HTTP, OSI Model, and routing/switching
- Proficient in memory management, CPU, and disk optimization
- Knowledgeable of ARM architecture
- Comfortable communicating with clients in English for business interactions
- Experienced with Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK) – would be a plus
- Familiar with cybersecurity technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, and IPS (as an advantage)
- Also familiar with Python and Go (nice to have)
- Work in the security domain and collaborate on a new security platform
- Participate in software refactoring ideas, research, and PoC
- Optimize memory management in C++
- Implement a new platform solution that will be less resource-intensive
- Ensure that software refactoring enables security functionality in new devices
