The Role: Junior Software Engineer

Do you believe in innovation, agility and making an impact in a constantly changing industry? Are you interested in secure communication between different devices, cryptography, content protection mechanisms? Working in projects with some of the biggest Media operators in the world, your work will touch hundreds of millions of users every day!

As a Junior Software Engineer, you’ll work in a collaborative scrum team consisting of talented Software Engineers in both development and in Test. You will work on a mix of traditional and innovative global security-based projects that strengthen our content protection solutions.

This role is a hybrid vacancy in the Netherlands; only candidates who reside in the Netherlands will be considered.

Your mission at Irdeto:

• Collaborate with product managers, product owners, system architects and other stakeholders to define and implement software requirements.
• Work closely with developers, testers, and stakeholders in a Scrum team, actively participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot the standalone server-side application, identify and resolve bugs or performance bottlenecks in the application.
• Analyze application and database performance, implement optimizations to improve speed, scalability, and user experience.
• Contribute to the maintenance of development, testing and delivery tools and frameworks.
• Document changes, processes, and best practices.
• Set an example in building a “customer first” attitude.
  
  

How you can add value to the team:

• BSc/MSc degree of Computer Science or related technical degree or equivalent experience.
• Basic to intermediate experience with Linux application development.
• Good development skill in Embedded C, Makefile, under Linux environment.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell or Python) for automation.
• Domain knowledge with DVB, OTT and content protection is a plus.
• Experience in agile development working environment.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail.
• Be familiar with working in a continuous integration environment and taking initiative.
• Communication and collaboration abilities, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and what is required for a job.
• Highly organized, thorough, and motivated professional.
• Proficient English communication skill.
