Job Title: Construction Project Manager - Lean & Continuous Improvement

Location: 50% Remote, 50% Boden or Stockholm, Sweden

Contract Type: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract



Introduction:



  • We are seeking an experienced and driven Construction Project Manager with a strong background in Lean Construction and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • This role offers a flexible 50% remote work arrangement, with the requirement to be based in either Boden or Stockholm, Sweden for the remaining 50% of the time.
  • The successful candidate will manage and deliver construction projects while focusing on optimising processes, reducing waste, and ensuring quality and safety.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead and manage construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring delivery within scope, time, and budget.
  • Implement Lean Construction principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and maximise value.
  • Use Continuous Improvement techniques (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen) to drive process enhancements across the project lifecycle.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with project goals and stakeholder expectations.
  • Oversee the coordination of project teams, including architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
  • Monitor and evaluate project performance in areas such as cost, schedule, quality, and safety, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Facilitate regular project review meetings to ensure progress, address challenges, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Proactively manage risks and resolve issues to minimise delays and cost overruns.
  • Drive the adoption of innovative construction methods and technologies to optimise efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental practices.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement within the team, encouraging feedback and fostering professional growth.



Qualifications and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within the construction industry, with a strong focus on Lean and Continuous Improvement.
  • Solid understanding of Lean Construction techniques, including value stream mapping, pull planning, and 5S.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.) and their practical application in construction.
  • Proficient in construction project management software and tools.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or similar Project Management certification is a plus.
  • Six Sigma or Lean Certification (Green Belt, Black Belt, or similar) is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to managing challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Fluent in English
