We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CAD/PLM Systems Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for administering and maintaining CAD and PDM/PLM systems, ensuring seamless integration and efficient data management across engineering workflows. You will provide technical support, optimize system performance, and contribute to process improvements. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in CAD and PDM/PLM administration, with a strong focus on system integration and workflow automation.

Our facility is designed to be state-of-the-art, with a variety of 3D printers, an electronics lab, and controls test studio. 1XHQ offers food, showers, and outdoor activities. Norway is known for its rich history, stunning natural landscapes and for being one of the happiest countries in the world.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CAD/PLM Systems Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for administering and maintaining CAD and PDM/PLM systems, ensuring seamless integration and efficient data management across engineering workflows. You will provide technical support, optimize system performance, and contribute to process improvements. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in CAD and PDM/PLM administration, with a strong focus on system integration and workflow automation.
Responsibilities
CAD System and PDM/PLM Administration:
- Administer and maintain CAD systems (ideally both ECAD and MCAD) and PDM/PLM systems, ensuring seamless data management, access control, and system performance.
- Support revision tracking and ensure data integrity throughout the product lifecycle.
- Serve as the primary technical contact for PDM/PLM software tools, provide technical support and troubleshooting for CAD and PDM/PLM-related issues.
- Ensure proper integration between PDM/PLM systems and other engineering systems (e.g., ERP, CAD) to streamline workflows and improve data accuracy and accessibility.
- Identify opportunities for process automation and system enhancements to drive efficiency
- Assist in the implementation and enhancement of PLM systems to support business needs and improve product data management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and deliver scalable PLM solutions.
- Support the maintenance of product structures and Bills of Materials (BoM) within PDM/PLM systems.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across engineering and manufacturing systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by optimizing CAD and PDM/PLM workflows.
- Work closely with engineering, supply chain, and IT teams to enhance system functionality and collaboration.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, IT, or a related technical discipline.
- 3+ years experience with CAD systems (e.g., SolidWorks) and strong experience with PDM/PLM administration.
- Hands-on experience with system integrations (e.g., PLM-ERP) and engineering workflows.
- Knowledge of engineering data management best practices and system security.
- Excellent communicator and problem-solver with strong collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented with a structured approach to engineering systems management.
- Proactive and self-driven, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills, capable of identifying and resolving system and process challenges.
- Hands-on attitude with a passion for optimizing engineering tools and processes.
