Head of SRE Platform Engineering

Job Description

The SRE Platform Engineering Lead will manage the Nokia IT Engineering SRE Team. This team support migrating our IT workloads from the on-prem datacenters to the public Clouds (Azure & Google). Migrations can also be from Cloud-to-Cloud. The team also ensure our adherence to Nokia Cybersecurity standards for all Cloud workloads and providing critical L3 support.

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

• Manage the Nokia IT SRE Platform Engineering Team
• Focus on reducing lifecycle friction by defining SLO, SLI, SLA, & SRE with key stakeholders
• Act as a partner engineering team to the Managed Service operations team
• Provide full transparency so that users can see their metrics on our service
• Design efficient, secure, adaptable, scalable, and reliable cloud solutions (data, networking, application)
• Drive all technical design and execution activities for moving existing on-premise infrastructure, server workloads, data and applications to the cloud IaaS and PaaS architectures.
• Introduce and develop Infrastructure automation in the environment including IAC, CI/CD pipelines, and automated configuration management.
• Migration of workloads from on-premise/datacenter to Cloud
• Drive self-service automation initiatives and drive generative AI initiatives
  
  

Key Skills And Experience

You Have:

• 5+ years of overall experience in Cloud or Software Engineering
• Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
• Experience with Platform Engineering
• 3-5 years Infrastructure or Solution Architecture Experience designing and implementing cloud-based solution architectures for PaaS, IaaS or SaaS.
• Hands on experience with one of the three primary public clouds: AWS, GCP (preferred), or Azure.
• Knowledge or experience designing and implementing automation solutions like Infrastructure as Code (IAC) solutions to build up and tear down infrastructure using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, GCP Deployment Manager, or Azure DevOps

• Flexibility in taking up different roles and tackling multiple technologies
• Work collaboratively on projects and help achieving company goals
• Ability to prioritize and execute on multiple concurrent initiatives with related or independent goals
• Be a Voice of Customer to share insights and best practices, connect with Engineering team to remove key blockers
• Cost analysis and management, Talent management, General management.
