Embedded Systems Architect – End-to-End Systems Design & Technical Leadership | Hybrid – Dublin, Ireland

We’re looking for an experienced Embedded Systems Architect to help shape next-generation embedded solutions for industrial automation, medical devices, or smart infrastructure platforms.

This hybrid role is based in Dublin, where world-leading tech companies and innovative embedded startups converge.

What You’ll Do:

• Define the overall architecture of embedded platforms across hardware, firmware, RTOS, and communication layers
• Evaluate system trade-offs (performance, power, cost, scalability) and guide design choices accordingly
• Lead technical reviews and provide mentorship to cross-functional engineering teams
• Collaborate with product and hardware teams to ensure feasibility and traceability across the development lifecycle
• Own system integration strategy, from prototyping to field deployment
• Write and maintain architectural documentation, interface definitions, and validation plans

What You Bring:

• 8+ years of experience in embedded systems development, with a strong track record in system architecture
• Deep understanding of MCUs, SoCs, RTOSes (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr), and hardware/software co-design
• Expertise in communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet) and wireless standards (BLE, Wi-Fi, LTE)
• Strong background in C/C++ and familiarity with hardware abstraction layers and bootloaders
• Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., medical, aerospace, automotive) or with safety-critical standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508)

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with FPGA integration, edge AI accelerators, or secure embedded architectures
• Familiarity with modern development workflows (CI/CD, Git, Jira) and traceability tools
• Exposure to DevOps for embedded systems, including OTA, diagnostics, and remote configuration
• Ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear system blueprints
