Vice President Project Delivery

We are seeking a Vice President - Project Delivery, with extensive Project Management experience for a client based in Muscat, Oman.

Our client, an energy investment and development company, manages direct energy investments within the energy sector such as oil and gas exploration and production, oil refining, petrochemical production, trading, alternative energy, power generation, and infrastructure & transportation for energy.

About the Role

Main Responsibilities:

• Oversee and lead the Project Delivery team and departments (Technical, Project Controls, and Project Management).
• Ensure optimal technical decisions for projects, including resource assessment, feasibility studies, and equipment selection.
• Manage project planning, cost estimation, and risk management during project development.
• Ensure projects are executed according to contractual obligations, on time and within budget.

Main Tasks:

• Manage the Project Delivery team, attracting, retaining, and coaching top talent.
• Provide necessary IT tools for technical, project controls, and project management.
• Define and manage the Project Delivery function budget.
• Ensure adherence to best practices through Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor project performance to ensure alignment with the approved business plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or relevant field.
• Master's Degree in Engineering in fields like Renewable Energy, Power Engineering, or Chemical/Process Engineering. (Preferred)
• Project Management certification (desirable)
• Leadership education (desirable)

Background & Experience

• Experience managing technical teams and projects.
• Expertise in renewables, including solar, wind, grid, storage, and electrolysis.
• Experience in delivering large-scale renewable energy projects.
• Regional experience in the GCC.
• Proficient in project controls and management.
• Experience in the full project lifecycle, from development to operations.
• Knowledge of renewable energy technologies, especially in solar and wind projects.
• Experience in managing renewable energy utility scale projects.
• Familiarity with project controls and risk management.
• Previous experience in the GCC region.
