Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and continuous evolution of Nova, Elia Group’s cross-platform design system.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (designers, developers, product owners, UX researchers) to build, test, and document reusable UI components and patterns.
• Create detailed documentation and design guidelines to ensure consistency across applications.
• Ensure design and accessibility standards are met in all UI components.
• Act as a champion of the design system, supporting adoption and training among teams across Elia and 50Hertz.
• Provide hands-on UI support to product teams as needed.
• Participate in quality assurance reviews of live components and help align them with design standards.
• Contribute to the overall UX maturity of the organization by embedding best practices and usability principles.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in UI or Interaction Design, ideally within product teams and enterprise environments.
• Proven experience in building and maintaining design systems, preferably in Figma (component libraries, variables, and design tokens).
• Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality design work and system thinking.
• Solid understanding of front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/JS); experience working with developers in agile settings.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) is a strong plus.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Fluent in English; Dutch, French, or German is a plus.
