We have an opportunity for a HR Business Partner to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity to develop your HR career. This individual will drive the sector people plan in conjunction with Divisional and Group plans and acts as a single point of the contact for managers and employees in the business unit.
This role is based in Singapore.
Job Duties:
- Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits
- Perform difficult staffing duties, including dealing with understaffing, refereeing disputes, firing employees, and administering disciplinary procedures.
- Advise managers on organizational policy matters and recommend needed changes.
- Coordinate and assist on compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
- Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities relating to employment, compensation, labor relations, and payroll and employee relations.
- Analyze training needs to design employee development, language training and health and safety programs.
- Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates.
- Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices.
- Conduct exit interviews when required to identify reasons for employee termination.
- Investigate and report on industrial accidents for insurance carriers.
- Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations and negotiate bargaining agreements and help interpret labor contracts.
- Assist in preparation of budgets for personnel operations.
- Study legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends.
- Develop and/or administer special projects in areas such as pay equity, ministry programs in HR realm, day-care, and employee awards.
- Provide terminated employees with outplacement or relocation assistance.
- Contract with vendors to provide employee services, such as food service, transportation, or relocation service.
Job Requirements:
- 4-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with emphasis in business, human resources or related.
- Five or more years of progressive working knowledge and experience managing human resource department
- Demonstrate competency and knowledge in the core areas of human resource management
- Advanced knowledge on HRMS
- Outstanding communication skills in English / local language
- Up to date in Employment Law and best practices relevant to the country along with knowledge and experience dealing with complex ER cases and dealing with MOM, IRA, CPF etc.
- Experience dealing with re-structuring and employee consultations would be advantageous
- HR Systems savvy and effective communication / influencing skills
- Self-starter with ability work on your own initiative and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ready to handle multiple business units in Singapore
- Ready to travel within Singapore
