Overview:

A dynamic, growth-focused IT services company backed by a leading Private Equity fund is seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead its technology function through a critical phase of transformation. Based in Berlin, this role offers the unique opportunity to play a pivotal leadership role in a business undergoing significant change, including a major S/4HANA implementation, while also contributing directly to the development of customer-facing technology solutions.

Role Summary:

The CIO will be responsible for defining and executing the company’s IT strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and value creation goals. The successful candidate will drive the company-wide S/4HANA transformation, modernize core IT systems and processes, and work closely with business leaders to deliver scalable, tech-enabled customer solutions. As part of a PE-backed organization, the CIO will also be exposed to a performance-driven environment with clear milestones for growth, efficiency, and value realization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technology Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute a future-ready IT strategy that aligns with the company’s commercial objectives and Private Equity value creation plan.
• S/4HANA Transformation: Lead the end-to-end implementation of S/4HANA, ensuring minimal disruption to the business while delivering long-term operational benefits.
• Customer-Facing Solutions: Partner with commercial and product teams to co-develop technology solutions that enhance customer value propositions and support revenue growth.
• IT Operations & Infrastructure: Ensure robust, scalable, and secure IT infrastructure across the organization, with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Data & Analytics: Establish data governance and analytics capabilities that support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
• Cybersecurity & Compliance: Maintain a strong cybersecurity posture and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Team Leadership & Development: Build, lead, and develop a high-performing IT team that can support the business through transformation and growth.
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with executive leadership, PE sponsors, and other key stakeholders to report on progress, risks, and opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as CIO or in a senior IT leadership role within a mid-market or enterprise business, ideally in the IT services or technology sector.
• Demonstrated success leading complex ERP transformations (S/4HANA experience strongly preferred).
• Experience in customer-centric technology development and solutioning.
• Familiarity with Private Equity-backed environments, including performance metrics, value creation planning, and exit readiness, is a strong advantage.
• Strong strategic thinking coupled with a hands-on, delivery-focused mindset.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English; German is a strong plus.
