Voda is looking for a Product Designer (Freelance)

🏳️‍🌈 Who We Are

More than half of LGBTQIA+ people experienced anxiety or depression last year, yet affirming mental health support remains painfully out of reach. Voda is changing that.

We’re building the world's most affirming and effective mental health platform designed for LGBTQIA+ lives. Created by leading queer psychologists and technologists, Voda blends queer wisdom and clinical rigour into accessible, culturally competent, and genuinely joyful mental health journeys.

Trusted by over 35,000 LGBTQIA+ users globally, featured as "App of the Day" in 37+ countries, and backed by prominent social impact investors: we’re on a mission to transform queer mental healthcare.

Your Role

We’re looking for a talented freelance Product Designer to help elevate our UX/UI, refine our design system, and craft experiences that are as delightful as they are impactful.

This role is perfect for someone passionate about inclusive design who wants to tangibly impact the LGBTQIA+ community.

Tasks

  • Collaborate closely with our founding team to translate concepts into joyful, elegant, and accessible user experiences.

  • Produce high-quality wireframes, prototypes, and polished UI designs for new features and improvements across the Voda app.

  • Conduct and incorporate user feedback, ensuring designs are empathetic, culturally competent, and trauma-informed.

  • Support and evolve Voda’s design system, maintaining visual consistency and high accessibility standards.

  • Participate in iterative design processes, balancing creative exploration with practical implementation considerations.

  • Clearly document design decisions and provide comprehensive hand-offs to our development team

Requirements

  • Have 3+ years experience in UX/UI product design, ideally within consumer apps.

  • Exceptional skills in visual design, interaction design, prototyping, and user-centered design methods.

  • Proficient in Figma and standard design collaboration tools (Notion, Slack).

  • Loves designing inclusive, joyful, and culturally competent user experiences (previous experience in LGBTQIA+ mental health or wellness spaces is highly valued).

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale clearly and thoughtfully.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, iterative environment and capable of balancing visual excellence with pragmatic execution.

  • Bonus if you have experience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Midjourney, Adobe Firefly) as part of your design workflow.
