Cyber Security Analyst | Melbourne | Financial Services


A leading financial services firm is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join its growing cyber security and governance team. In this role, you'll protect critical information assets, ensure robust incident response, and proactively uplift the organisation's security posture.


This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract and offers a Hybrid working arrangement of 3 days in the office and 2 from home.


What You’ll Do


As a key member of the cyber function, you’ll:

  • Monitor, analyse and respond to cyber events and incidents across networks and systems.
  • Lead and contribute to forensic investigations and incident response plans.
  • Support the development and implementation of cybersecurity policies, controls and strategies.
  • Stay on the front foot with evolving threats, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments, manage patching cycles, and support penetration testing.
  • Deliver training to uplift security awareness across phishing, social engineering, and cyber hygiene.
  • Work closely with third parties and vendors to maintain a secure external ecosystem.


What You Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in a cybersecurity analyst role within an enterprise environment.
  • Strong proficiency in incident detection, investigation, and resolution.
  • Hands-on experience with security operations tools, SIEMs, and cloud security (AWS, Microsoft 365, Azure).
  • Familiarity with ISO27001, NIST CSF, Essential 8, MITRE ATT&CK, and VPDSS.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills – able to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences alike.
  • Excellent problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
  • Relevant degree in cyber security, IT, or engineering, with certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or SANS considered an advantage.
