Your mission

As a Backend Developer your first mission will be to maintain our Credit Risk database in SQL with an emphasis on business logic sitting within the database. So we are looking for people with a passion for databases but on the long term would like to grow towards backend development of custom Enterprise applications where the business logic will be in Java. You still will be the subject matter expert of databases in the second phase of the mission.

We have a buy before built vision, so we try to do as much as possible within our Microsoft suite but some business-critical applications don’t exist off the shelf. The core business of Manuchar is Supply Chain, so the track and tracing of our containers together with Credit Risk is crucial. These are custom development projects that we would like to migrate to the latest technology stack in Java.

Other responsibilities:

• Maintain SQL database (MSSQL, ETL, SSIS)
• Follows the Manuchar coding standards for back-end development
• Investigates and solves technical back-end questions
• Highlight pitfalls & advantages of different technical solutions for the “to develop” UserStory, together with the team.
• Make global and detail estimations for the “to develop” UserStories
• Responds to technical questions of the developed UserStories
• Has understanding of functional analysis to be developed

What do you need to be successful in your mission?

• You have hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server; Stored procedure, ETL, SSIS
• You have experience with backend development in Java, Spring, Hibernate and API's
• You are used to working in an Agile environment(scrum)
• You have strong communication skills and succeed in building good relations.
• You are proactive, adaptive and think in terms of solutions instead of problems
• You get energy from working in a global fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
• You are fluent in English, knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
