Our growing company, Comtrade System Integration, is currently seeking for Junior IT Engineer – Microsoft Technologies to join our team in Ljubljana.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Junior IT Engineer with around 3 years of experience, particularly in Microsoft on-premises environments, Azure cloud services, Microsoft 365 (M365), and security fundamentals. This role is ideal for someone who has already begun their IT career and is looking to deepen their technical expertise in a collaborative and supportive environment.

You’ll work closely with senior engineers to maintain and improve our IT infrastructure while gradually taking ownership of more complex tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support and maintain Microsoft on-premises infrastructure, including Active Directory, DNS, Windows Server, and Exchange.
• Assist in deploying and managing Microsoft Azure services (virtual machines, storage, networking).
• Administer Microsoft 365 solutions such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business.
• Help implement and monitor basic security tools and policies, including Microsoft Defender and Azure Security Center.
• Perform routine system checks, monitor performance, and assist in resolving technical issues.
• Respond to end-user IT support requests related to hardware, software, and connectivity.
• Create and update documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting.
• Stay up to date with new technologies and contribute ideas for improvements.
• Participate in IT projects, upgrades, and rollouts as part of the wider team.
• Follow best practices for security, data protection, and compliance.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• 3 years of hands-on IT experience in a support or junior infrastructure role.
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and basic networking.
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure, with experience deploying or managing core services (VMs, storage, etc.).
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a logical, structured approach to solving technical issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• A desire to learn and grow in areas such as cloud computing, automation, and IT security.

NICE TO HAVE:

• Certifications such as:
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals or Administrator Associate
• Microsoft 365 Fundamentals or Administrator Associate
• Experience working with ticketing systems and monitoring tools.
• Understanding of IT security principles and tools like Microsoft Defender or Sentinel.
• Participation in IT infrastructure projects, migrations, or deployments.
