About The Role

Skymap is seeking a Senior Game Designer to join its remote team. In this role, you will work within the design department to create compelling game mechanics, systems, and content for both internal projects and external partnerships.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of gameplay design, experience with Unreal Engine, and a collaborative mindset. You will be expected to contribute to iterative design processes, participate in playtesting, and implement your designs in coordination with engineers and other disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior designers and interdisciplinary teams to design game systems, levels, and mechanics.
• Participate in playtesting and integrate feedback to refine game features and experiences.
• Communicate design feedback, challenges, and progress across teams.
• Contribute to seamless integration of features, quests, and content into open or explorable game worlds.
• Ensure all designs adhere to project guidelines and technical limitations.
• Implement design elements within the game engine, with engineering support as needed.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience as a game designer in the games industry.
• Proficiency with Unreal Engine 4 or 5.
• Experience in server-authoritative game development.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  
  

Pluses

• Background in MMO or simulation RPG design.
• Experience with social gameplay systems.
• Passion for video games and interest in design analysis.
• Attention to detail and experience in large, distributed teams.
