As part of the energy transition, energy produced in the North and Baltic Seas must be transferred to the south with minimal losses.

For this purpose, high-voltage direct current transmission systems (HVDCs) are needed on offshore platforms.

The planning and implementation of these offshore platforms and the integration of HVDC technology on them is very complex and demanding.

We are seeking for a suitable candidate to coordinate the planning between offshore platform designers and HVDC technology.

Essential Responsibilities

• Act as an advisor for the implementation of the HVDC Technology into the planning of the offshore platform with the support of the back-office.
• Coordinating the interfaces of HVDC components with the offshore platform planner under consideration of specific HV equipment requirements.
• Ensuring compliance with German standards and regulations (water protection laws, EHS, etc.).
• Mitigate negative impact of necessary changes and adaptions on costs for the design phase resulting in expensive solutions for the execution of the offshore platforms.
• Mitigate negative impact on the schedule and support timely delivery of the offshore platform design.
  
  

Qualifications And Skills

• The candidate should be a structural engineer for steel construction, able to discuss and evaluate necessary changes with the platform planner at eye level.
• The Project Technical Interface Manager should preferably have experience in the planning and construction of HVDC Offshore platforms.
• The candidate should be a strong communicator and act solution oriented.
• Willingness to travel to the drydock for inspections and meetings and to attend other project meetings upon request.
• Support the project directors and provide necessary input to defend and mitigate or prepare change orders.
• Act as a coordinator between GE Vernova project execution team and offshore planner.
