About Us: At Zappyrent, we are revolutionizing the long-term home rental market. Our mission is to provide both tenants and landlords with a superior experience that is easier, safer, and more efficient from the initial contact through to the end of the stay. By automating the entire rental process, we aim to remove the friction and challenges traditionally associated with renting.

Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced full stack developer  to join our team. This role primarily focuses on the back end, ensuring the robustness and scalability of the Zappyrent ecosystem. The ideal candidate will guide our engineering team in making strategic technical decisions, promoting best practices, and driving the technical vision of our platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Solid TypeScript knowledge.
• Understanding of React fundamentals and how to build robust & scalable interfaces.
• Desired experience in NestJS (our backend core) and/or NextJS (there are a few projects built on it).
• Hands-on experience with RabbitMQ.
• MySQL and/or Postgres is a must-have.
• Oversee the architecture and development of microservices, ensuring scalability and performance.
• Make informed decisions regarding the technology stack, tools, and platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business goals.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, providing expert guidance and solutions.
• Leverage AWS or other cloud services to optimize and enhance the platform’s capabilities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in software development and architecture.
• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with microservice architecture.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Strong decision-making skills and the ability to involve and inspire team members.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, with some understanding of PHP and Python.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud service providers.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate and resolve complex technical issues.

Nice to Have:

• Curiosity in exploring and using AI tools for product development and prototyping, such as Cursor, Replit, Devin AI, Bolt New, etc.
