Telecommunications Embedded Software Engineer – 5G & IoT Devices

Join our client’s innovative telecommunications technology company in Luxembourg as a Telecommunications Embedded Software Engineer. You will play a critical role in developing and integrating embedded software for next-generation 5G and IoT communication devices. This position is ideal for engineers with a strong embedded systems background, experience in low-level protocol stacks, and a passion for cutting-edge wireless technology.

Must-have skills:

• Proven experience in embedded C/C++ programming for telecommunications hardware
• In-depth knowledge of communication protocols such as LTE, 5G NR, or NB-IoT
• Hands-on experience with real-time operating systems (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or similar)
• Familiarity with RF hardware integration and baseband processing firmware
• Experience with protocol stack development and optimization
• Strong debugging skills for hardware-software interaction in embedded environments

Additional skills:

• Knowledge of wireless security standards and encryption protocols
• Experience with hardware abstraction layers (HAL) and device drivers
• Familiarity with embedded Linux and Yocto build environments
• Ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers and system architects
• Understanding of OTA (Over-The-Air) update mechanisms and firmware lifecycle management
• Strong documentation and version control practices for telecom product certification
