System Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced System Engineer to manage and optimize our Microsoft Azure cloud environment & Onprem Infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Azure-based solutions that support business applications and services. This role requires a strong understanding of Azure IaaS and PaaS offerings, security best practices, and automation tools. Expertise in Wintel systems (Windows Server, Active Directory, etc.) with a strong focus on system-level security, compliance, and threat mitigation. The ideal candidate will work closely with the IT infrastructure and security teams to ensure reliable, secure, and compliant IT operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure.
• Configure and maintain Azure services including Virtual Machines, Azure AD, Storage Accounts, VNets, NSGs, Load Balancers, and Azure Monitor.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
• Ensure system availability, performance, and scalability through monitoring and proactive maintenance.
• Support and enhance identity and access management using Azure Active Directory, MFA, and RBAC.
• Automate routine processes using PowerShell and Azure CLI.
• Set up and manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions in Azure.
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, and security teams to integrate cloud solutions with existing systems and pipelines.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for infrastructure and procedures.
• Stay informed on Azure updates, trends, and emerging technologies.
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers (2016/2019/2022) in physical and virtualized environments.
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and related services.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
• Participate in capacity planning and system upgrades.
• Provide support for Windows Clustering, Hyper-V, or VMware environments.
• Implement and maintain system hardening policies, security baselines, and antivirus/EDR solutions
• Ensure compliance with IT security standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS).
• Collaborate with security operations (SecOps) and incident response teams during security events.
• Monitor system logs and security alerts to identify and respond to threats.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Azure infrastructure and services.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Azure AD, and other core services.
• Proficient in scripting (PowerShell, Azure CLI) and automation.
• Solid understanding of networking, firewalls, DNS, and load balancing in Azure.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
• Understanding of networking concepts, firewalls, VPNs, and security zones.
• Familiarity with ITIL practices and change management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
• Experience with hybrid cloud environments and integration with on-premise infrastructure.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Knowledge of container technologies and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals.
