Senior Project Manager | Insurance

The Company

We are working with a thriving customer centric business with high operational complexity and a vast landscape of interdependent core business systems.

They are implementing a new insurance product that will ultimately change their selling model, which has significant ramifications to their core backend system and regulatory obligations, as well as the customer experience. To support this initiative, they are standing up a dedicated project team and are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of this work.

You will work with a array of internal and external stakeholders, and vendors to establish a clear project plan, drive execution, and ensure delivery aligns with agreed scope, timelines, and budget. This role will suit a collaborative and proactive problem solver with a proven track record of delivering complex enterprise projects with integration and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Project Planning & Delivery

• Develop and manage a project plan, aligning deliverables, milestones, and dependencies.
• Drive the execution of project activities, ensuring progress against schedule and identifying risks early.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

• Build strong collaborative relationships both internally and externally.
• Set and manage stakeholder expectations through regular updates, clear reporting, and consistent communication.
• Facilitate workshops, steering committees, and working groups as needed.

Budgeting & Cost Management

• Maintain control of project spend in alignment with budget.
• Make data-driven recommendations to tailor scope and timing as needed to stay within budget.

Problem Solving & Risk Management

• Proactively identify project risks and barriers.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement practical, effective solutions.
• Escalate critical issues where necessary with recommended actions.

About You

• 7+ years of experience in project management, ideally in major transformation and systems change.
• Experience in high risk and highly regulated environments is essential.
• Financial services or insurance experience will be highly advantageous.
• Solid understanding of backend systems and integration projects, and compelling knowledge of the complications that can arise.
• Proven ability to manage complex stakeholders environments and drive outcomes both internally and externally.
• Exceptional communication skills across varying levels of seniority both in business and technology.
