OBJECTIVE


This role is responsible for creating strategic design solutions that have a high visual impact. The role involves listening to clients and understanding their needs before making design decisions. The role’s designs are required for a huge variety of brands, products and activities, such as websites, advertising, catalogs, magazines, posters, product packaging, exhibitions and displays, corporate communications and corporate identity, Eg. - giving organization a visual 'brand'.

This role works to a brief agreed with the internal clienteles and group marketing manager. This role is also responsible of developing creative ideas and concepts, choosing the appropriate media and style to meet the client's objectives and in achieving the medium to long term objectives of the group marketing division.


This role will have the authority to make operations related decisions which will positively improve designing efficiencies and quality, however will need to confer with the group marketing general manager on any such decisions related to strategic initiatives. This role will need to give inputs, however may not make decision that have financial implications i.e. purchasing of machines, software and tools, repairing /maintenance of machines, etc.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing the operations aspect of design work including administration & scheduling work.
  • Organizing the design workflow for projects and answering to client marketing teams’ questions regarding the workflow.
  • Meet with Clients or the Head of Project to determine the scope of the project/job
  • Communicate with clients/customers and other operators to ensure that the idea/message are effectively expressing the information provided/requested
  • Advise clients on strategies to reach a particular audience
  • Representing the company in front of clients & suppliers.
  • Works towards achieving the department’s medium to long term.
  • Ensures operation of software by completing timely upgrades requirements, following manufacturer’s instruction, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for vendors for complex troubleshooting, and evaluating new software in the market
  • Plans concept by studying information and materials
  • Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style and related concept
  • Obtains approval of concept
  • Prepares final layout from PC to product (calligraphies)
  • Ability to create designs that are artistically interesting and appealing to the client
  • Produce rough illustration of design ideas, presentations, sketching/drafting by hand or by computer program.
  • Work on multiple projects at the same time, each with a different deadline
  • Create graphical visual content that identify a product or convey a message
  • Incorporate changes recommended by the client into the final design
  • Review designs for errors before finalizing stage i.e. Printing or publishing
  • Meets deliverables and deadlines for projects assigned by the his/her superior
  • Establishes, organizes and maintains a network storage library for media files
  • Update and maintains the graphical content of the company’s website and other media
  • In charge of all internal group corporate creative artwork
  • In charge quality aspects for all the group internal Branding materials.
  • Prepare (design aspect) all social media content of ABA group
  • In liaison with overseas principles to confirm created artwork.
  • Discuss with marketing executive needed artwork and brain storm for creative concept.
  • Device and design the storyboard, artwork and layout of the ABA DOT magazine.
  • Coaches and mentors team members whenever required
  • Analyze the complexity of each project and identify future variations that might help the retention of client
  • Conducts research on new technologies which arise within the field market
  • In depth knowledge of each Brand’s corporate identity and ensure that the brand’s Guideline is highly respected and implemented on all artwork.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change in the parameters of design / software
  • May contribute to discussions and decisions relating to any topic within the design operation which may lead to efficiency
  • Ability to think of new approaches to communicating new ideas to clients/customers
  • Develop creative programs and design concepts that meet the business objectives of the organization and that advance our brand strategy.
  • The role works in a competitive environment, with minimal margin for error. The job demands meeting strict deadlines. (eg. Presentation for tenders, weekly adverts, etc.)
  • The role interfaces between the marketing team and the clientele / principle of group brands, while monitoring the output quality at all times.
  • The role requires constant awareness with a current designing techniques and trends using latest technologies (eg- software, design tools, and communication handling etc.)
  • This role demands a high level of creativity with minimal involvement from the Marketing GM
  • The role demands advanced interpersonal skills to be used with high profile clients / principles (such as Sr. Management) and understanding their needs and broad vision of a particular concept


JOB REQUIREMENT


  • Bachelor of Arts or Fine Arts or any Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design is a must.
  • At least 6 years’ experience in the same field of which at least 3 - 4 years should be as a creative designer in a multi-national / regional company and/or prestigious advertising agency.
  • Certified and advance experience in usage of Adobe software, Maya, Flash, Corel software, MS editing tools, Web editing and designing software etc. is a must.
  • Must have knowledge of design techniques, tools and principals involved in production of visual advertisings with precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models
  • Excellent English communication skills both oral and written
  • Must possess skills in Graphic Design, Layout, Creativity, Flexibility, Attention to details, Deadline Oriented, and most importantly skills in handling rejection
  • Ability to communicate effectively with computerized graphic methods and Illustration skills is a must
  • Professional knowledge and skill levels are kept up to date in order to meet the needs of the position.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred
