JOB MISSION:

The Retail Project Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all retail-related projects, ensuring seamless collaboration across departments and driving operational excellence. This role acts as a central point of coordination, consolidating projects from various functions to bring visibility, alignment, and consistency across the retail business.

The Retail Project Manager will work cross-functionally with teams in Training, Expansion, Operations, Facility & Health & Safety, Store Development, Finance, IT, Marketing, Visual Merchandising (VM), Product, and Logistics, ensuring that all retail initiatives are implemented efficiently and effectively. This individual will drive project execution, enhance communication, reduce inefficiencies, and improve the overall productivity of both retail and support functions.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Project Management & Coordination

  • Lead or oversee multiple retail projects simultaneously, ensuring timely execution and alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, deliverables, and KPIs to measure success.
  • Consolidate and track all projects impacting retail, ensuring clear visibility across teams.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to keep projects on track and within scope.

Cross-Functional Communication Management

  • Act as the primary liaison between retail and other departments, including Finance, IT, Marketing, VM, Product, and Logistics.
  • Ensure all retail-related projects are aligned with business strategies and contribute to overall company goals.
  • Facilitate collaboration between global, regional, and local teams to drive consistency and standard processes.

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Enhance communication channels across teams, ensuring stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout project lifecycles.
  • Implement structured meeting cadences, reporting formats, and information-sharing mechanisms to improve transparency.
  • Reduce unnecessary meetings across the region and global teams by streamlining discussions and decision-making processes.

Process Improvement & Operational Efficiency

  • Identify gaps in current retail operations and implement best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop standardised workflows, documentation, and tools to enhance productivity.
  • Support teams in reducing manual work and redundancies, freeing up time for other valuable activities.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Relevant number of years of experience in project management, retail operations, or a similar role in a multi-functional retail business.
  • Relevant degree in Business, Retail Management, Operations, or a related field. PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work across multiple teams and manage complex projects.
  • Problem-solving attitude with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Experience in process improvement, operational efficiencies, and retail strategy execution.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as JIRA, Asana, Mon-day.com, or MS Project.
