Job Description

Wobitech, an Australian-based custom software and mobile app development company, is looking for a skilled Android App Developer with expertise in Kotlin/Java, Jetpack and Compose This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Android applications while ensuring performance, stability, and seamless user experience.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin/Java.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features.
• Ensure optimal application performance, responsiveness, and stability.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and bugs.
• Stay updated with the latest Android development trends, tools, and technologies.
• Work closely with UI/UX designers to bring designs to life.
• Integrate Google Maps, geocoding, GPS, and Bluetooth services to enhance app functionality.
• Implement unit and integration tests to maintain software quality.

Skills Required:

• Strong expertise in Android development (Kotlin/Java).
• Experience in developing and maintaining native Android applications.
• Proficiency in integrating Google/Here Maps, geocoding, GPS, and Bluetooth services.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and networking libraries like Retrofit.
• Experience handling JSON and XML data formats.
• Strong debugging and performance optimization skills.
• Knowledge of architectural patterns such as MVP, MVC, MVVM, and Clean Architecture.
• Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
• Experience with push notifications, mobile design guidelines, and UI frameworks.
• Understanding of payment gateway integration.
• Exposure to hybrid frameworks like Flutter or React Native is a plus.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Android App Developer with a portfolio of published apps.
• Strong understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
