Looker & LookML - Development and Management:

• Design, develop, and maintain complex and scalable LookML models (views, explore, dashboards) ensuring high data accuracy, consistency, and performance.
• Build, optimize, and manage Looker dashboards and reports to present clear, actionable insights to various business stakeholders.
• Implement Looker best practices for data modeling, performance optimization, security, and version control (Git integration).
• Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to integrate new data sources and define new data requirements within Looker.
• troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Looker models, explores, and dashboards.

Looker Studio Report - Development and Management:

• Develop, manage, and enhance professional-grade Looker Studio Pro and standard Looker Studio reports and dashboards.
• Effectively connect Looker Studio reports to diverse data sources, with a strong emphasis on BigQuery.
• Ensure the data integrity, visual accuracy, and user-friendliness of all Looker Studio assets.
• Optimize Looker Studio report performance and load times for an optimal user experience.

SQL & BigQuery Expertise:

• Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis, specifically within Google BigQuery.
• Perform rigorous query performance tuning and optimization in BigQuery to ensure efficient data retrieval for Looker and Looker Studio reports.
• Apply BigQuery best practices for cost optimization, data partitioning, clustering, and data storage.
• Monitor existing data pipelines and queries to ensure data freshness, reliability, and accuracy for downstream reporting.

BI Operations & Support:

• Proactively monitor the performance and health of BI reports, underlying data sources, and Looker instances.
• Respond to and resolve incidents related to data accuracy, report failures, or performance degradation in a timely manner.
• Provide end-user support, training, and guidance on data interpretation and report usage.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, reports, and operational procedures.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of BI processes and data governance initiatives.

Job Skillset Requirements:

Technical Expertise:

Looker & LookML: Demonstrable expert-level proficiency in Looker development, including extensive experience in LookML modeling (views, explores, dimensions, measures, persistent derived tables), dashboard/report creation, and Looker administration.

Looker Studio (formerly Google Data Studio): Proven experience in designing, developing, and managing complex reports and dashboards using both Looker Studio Pro and standard Looker Studio.

SQL: Advanced SQL skills with a strong understanding of query optimization, complex joins, subqueries, CTEs (Common Table Expressions), window functions, and data manipulation.

Google BigQuery: Hands-on experience with Google BigQuery, including data warehousing concepts, schema design, query performance tuning, cost optimization, and BigQuery best practices (partitioning, clustering).

Version Control: Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git, for managing LookML and SQL code.
